Christmas and New Year Closure

🎄 PAINSWICK SURGERY WILL BE CLOSED ON THURSDAY 25TH & FRIDAY 26TH DECEMBER AND THURSDAY 1ST JANUARY 🎅🏼
 
While our team enjoy a much deserved break over the Christmas and New Year period, here are some services who can help you if you require medical assistance during that time:
 
💊 Pharmacy First: a walk-in service at any community pharmacy for conditions such as sore throat, sinusitis, ear infections in children aged 1-17, uncomplicated UTIs in women, shingles, insect bites and impetigo.
 
🏥 Stroud Minor Injury and Illness Unit: for new illnesses or injuries such as sprains, minor fractures, wounds, burns, ear ache, skin problems, eye conditions. Stroud MIIU is open 7 days a week from 08:00-20:00, with last walk-ins at 19:30.
 
🩺 Gloucester Health Access Centre: runs a service for people registered with a GP surgery who cannot access an appointment due to closure. Can treat conditions such as coughs, flu, childhood illnesses (as long as the child is alert and awake) and skin problems. Not suitable for emergencies, problems that need X-rays or blood test, problems that will need a referral, and mental health problems. GHAC is open 7 days a week from 08:00-20:00, including bank holidays. Booking is essential, call 01452 336290.
 
🦷 Dental care: if you require urgent dental treatment, call NHS 111 who will be able to find an out-of-hours dental service near you.
 
📞 NHS 111 is for urgent but not life-threatening medical concerns, they can give you advice and signpost you to an appropriate local service. You can also request emergency prescriptions using NHS 111. You can get help by using 111 online (only for people aged 5 and over), in the NHS app or by calling 111.
 
‼️ Always dial 999 in a life-threatening emergency: including (but not limited to) chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke (acute confusion, difficulty speaking, one sided weakness, dizziness, blurred vision), loss of consciousness, severe loss of blood, severe burns, choking, seizures or convulsions, concussion, drowning, severe allergic reactions.
